 Friday June 12, 2026 We are in the home streatch of grade 3.  We had a visitor, Mrs. Reid, who came to make biscuits with the kids.  We are reading Ticket to Curlew in social and in the story the character makes biscuits.  The story takes place in 1915 in Curlew, Alberta. The kids were excited to get a chance to do Alien In-line skating this week. We are working on our multiplication and division facts. We had a great time doing Alien In-Line skating!  Happy first Friday of June! We walked to a neighbourhood park and played preditor vs prey. In social we finished our research into government. We learned about homophones and homographs. We start Alien In-Line next week. We skate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  You can bring in your own helmet.  Happy last Friday of May! In social studies, we have been reading the novel Ticket to Curlew.  It paints a picture of life in 1915 Alberta. In science, we are exploring food webs. Continue practicing multiplication and division facts. Have your child wear their swimsuit under their clothes to school to help speed up getting ready. Happy Thursday! The weather doesn't look the best, but I hope everyone has a great long weekend! In social studies, we have been learning about provincial and municipal government.  Ask me what I learned. In science, we have been learning about food chains.  We played a fun game called preditor vs prey where we get to be different parts of the animal food chain.  Ask me about it. Keep practicing multiplication and division! In the next few weeks leading up to the end of the school year, our class will be taking some community walks to enhance our learning.  In some cases, we may use the equipment on neighbourhood parks. We also continue developing our writing using adjectives and adverbs. In science we are learning about living systems. In Social Studies we are focusing on protected lands, such as provincal and national parks.  We have begun learning about the Alberta government. * Please return all field trip forms on Monday.
