Happy Thursday!

The weather doesn't look the best, but I hope everyone has a great long weekend!

In social studies, we have been learning about provincial and municipal government.  Ask me what I learned.

In science, we have been learning about food chains.  We played a fun game called preditor vs prey where we get to be different parts of the animal food chain.  Ask me about it.

Keep practicing multiplication and division!

In the next few weeks leading up to the end of the school year, our class will be taking some community walks to enhance our learning.  In some cases, we may use the equipment on neighbourhood parks.

We start swimming on Tuesday so don't forget your swim stuff!!!!

 Happy Fri-yay! That's a wrap on week 2!   In math, have been reviewing our 2 digit addition with regrouping skills.  Practice a few questions at home. We enjoyed getting together with our grade 2 buddies and creating nature art. Our Terry Fox Run was a great success.  We learned about courage and perseverence and how to keep going even when something is hard. Please return yellow parent viewpoint next week. If you have not returned the green forms for the office, please send them in next week.  Happy Fri-Yay! This week in grammar we reviewed nouns.  Ask your child what is a noun?  Can they give you some examples?  We did a quiz on Friday and I will be sending this home next week.  Moving forward, most friday we will be writing a grammar quiz on different grammar rules.  Check in with your child to see how they are doing. In math, we have been reviewing double digit addition with regrouping.  We will be moving quite quickly in math this year and I encourage regular check-in's with your child to see how they are doing. We have been practicing for our Orange Shirt Day assembly.  We are looking forward to sharing our learning on September 26 and hope to see many of you there.
