Happy Friday!

We appreciate everyone who was able to attend our Orange Shirt Day assembly.  Our students learned so much about Truth and Reconciliation and what celebrating Orange Shirt Day means.  Why do we have this day?  Why is it important to remember and learn about the past?

We reviewed verbs this week.  What is a verb? We continue to practice our sentence writing to make our ideas clear and complete.

In math, we are solving number patterns, reading and understanding word problems and adding money.  Do you know the value and names of all the coins?

In science and social studies, we have been learning about landforms and how they are formed, specifically in Alberta.

Alien In-Line Skating

Schedule for Mrs. Kruger's Class:

Wed. Oct. 1

Mon. Oct. 6

Wed. Oct. 8

Thus. Oct.9

**Please read below information regarding helmets:

-students should bring their own helmet (with a safety certification sticker attached e.g., CSA, CPSC, etc.) and all participants need to wear socks. Due to health reasons, students without socks will not be permitted to participate. We recommend students bring an extra pair of socks to help keep the equipment dry and for the participant’s personal comfort.

  1. Acceptable helmets include: bicycle helmets, hockey helmets (no cage), skateboard helmets, ski/snowboard helmets.

  1. The following helmets are not appropriate for inline skating: BMX helmets, baseball helmets, football helmets, equestrian helmets, motorcycle helmets, any helmet with no chin strap, any helmet that covers the face, any helmet missing its outer plastic shell.

Coming Up: Inline Skating in the Gym!
We're excited to let you know that Alien Inline Skating will be starting a residency in our gymnasium for Grades 3, 4 and EES students starting Wednesday, October 1st.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, coordination, and have a ton of fun while learning to inline skate.
A few important notes for skating days:
  • Students are encouraged to bring a CSA-approved helmet (bike helmets are best).  I will post the schedule so you know what days to bring in helmets.
  • Please do not send full-face helmets, football helmets, or hockey helmets.
  • If your child does not have a helmet, one will be provided for them.
