Happy weekend! The spring concert was fabulous!  The kids did an amazing job. Your child should have brought home their grammar and math quiz.  If they were picked up early on Thursday they may not have it and will recieve it next week. In social studies we are focusing on settlers to Alberta and why people would have immigrated to Alberta. Keep working on multiplication and division at home to help your child with fluency of the facts. Please return swimming forms. Toys at School- NO! This is a reminder that students are to leave their toys at home, including Pokeman cards and stuffies. Toys are a distraction in the classroom where the focus is on learning. As well, toys can get lost , misplaced, or fall into someone else’s hands. The school is not responsible for dealing with such issues or replacement of articles gone missing.  Happy Friday! We read a book called My Monster and Me.  We discussed big feelings, such as anxiety and worries and how we can recognise this in ourselves to help us feel better.  We discussed positive strategies that might help us when we are feeling worried. We are doing a science/social studies project.  We have to build a machine using simple machines to load a resource onto a vehical to move it from one region in Alberta to another.  We have to use at least 4 simple machines in it. We talked about Autism Awareness Month.  We read books and shared our feelings about autism.  We learned that some kids just learn differently. In math, we are working on memorizing our multiplication facts up to 12 x 12.   This week in grammar we learned concrete and abstract nouns. Please send in all signed forms for our upcoming field trip to the Phiharmonic Orchestra. Grade 2 & 3 Spring Concert McKenzie Towne School is excited to present "Singing Throu...
